What is Storybird?


It's a fast way of creating our own storybooks. Users can pick from picture books, poem books or long story books. It provides hundreds of different art you can pick from for you theme. Once you pick a theme it has hundreds of pictures to choose from for your story. there are a couple different ways of setting up each page. It's easy to put in text as well. 


What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?


I can create my own books to use for lessons to show my students that anyone can create a book. In the program, I can create books for standards that might be hard to teach on. In the Education Program, I can use my own material for presentations. 



What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?

I can show to my students how easy it is to create a book and that anyone can do it. Some lessons are hard to teach to students because it's hard for them to stay focused but with Storybird, I can teach any lesson in a picture book. This will be very convenient as a teacher.

  • The pictures are stacked. So you have to drag pictures to find them
  • Can't preview book until after you publish it

How will I use this tool in my classroom to present information?

I can use picture books to present any kind of information I would like. When I know my students have a hard time paying attention to a certain subject, then I can use Storybird to present the information. Students will be entertained and will learn.


How can my students utilize this tool?

I can make all my books I create available online for my students to look at while at home. They can also create their own picture books about share them with the class. This tool is great for helping students be motivated to write.
