What is Padlet?

Its a giant poster that you can create online. You can add videos, audio, images and text. Its pretty to use and is new and organized. It's easy to move around the different post you have. The have plenty of backgrounds to pick from and you are able to upload your own as well.

What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?

This tool can help me be organized as I am making presentations for my classes. It can help me also put all different kinds of media on there as sources.

What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?

This tool will help me be organized as a teacher while I create lessons for my students. This will help my students learn more visually as well.

PROS of

CONS of 

  • hard to adjust the media to different sizes
  • images take a while to load

How will I use this tool in my classroom to present information?

I can create a board for my student explore to find information on their own. I can also use it for homework and they come and report back to class what they learned.

How can my students utilize this tool?

My students can look at my boards to see what information they can find on their own through looking at the pictures and videos.

Google Slides

What is Google Slides?

It's just like PowerPoint but linked through google drive. You are able to easily share your slides with others by adding their email to the shared the list. You can give people access to edit it or just be able to view it. 


What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?


When I have to create lessons or presentations as a group while I am in the program, I can use Google Slides. We can easily share the slides online together. So will make it easier for us to create the presentations without meeting very often. 



What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?

I can use this tool she teach lessons in the classroom. I can add videos, pictures and link to the slides. I can save all the slides to my google drive, which will make it easier to access it whenever I want. I don't need to carry my personal computer anywhere.

  • If you don't have internet, you can access it
  • people can have access to the slides if they don't have a gmail account

How will I use this tool in my classroom to present information?

I can use this tool to teach to my students in the classroom. This is a lot more entertaining for the students compared to if I just lecture about different subjects. I have help my class be more engaged in the lessons. 

How can my students utilize this tool?


I can post these slides on my blog and my students can access them from there. I can use this tool as homework or even a review of the lesson. If students have questions about the homework, they can refer to the google slides that I have made for them.

Pinterest


What is Pinterest?

Its a network full of pictures, ideas and videos of many different things. Most people use it to plan weddings, parties and look for creative ways to decoration their home.

What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?

I can get so many different ideas for lessons on pinterest. You search and you will find creative things to use.

What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?

I can be a more creative teacher and also I can create different boards that help me organize different subjects.

PROS of

CONS of

  • Lots of advertisement 
  • too much = hard to find specific things

What is Gone Google Story Builder?

It's a new product that google has been creating. You are able to create videos of a typed story. You can create characters and have them write in the video. It is a new program, so you are unable to create a very long story but it's pretty simple. They have music you can add to you video. 

What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?


I can use new products to share with other new teachers. I can show them how to use it, so they can use it in their classrooms. It will help me be up to date as a teacher. 

What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?


I can teach my students in a new way. I can help them understand simple concepts for grammar and writing. This will help them learn visually. most students have a hard time with English because it's not very visual. I can change that.

I can teach my student reading and writing through Gone Google Story Builder. This will help them visually see how to make creations. Also, I can create stories for them so they can see how to write stories.

My students can visually learn how to write stories and also to correct mistakes. I can post my videos online and they can refer to them when I have homework assignments for them.

What is Today's Meet?

Users can create an open or closed room where people can either have a discussion or just answer questions. It's simple to use and easy to access. If you want it to be a closed group then you can create a password. 


What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?


I have open discussions with my peers about topics with teaching or ideas of different lessons to teach. I can even ask for advice and certain subjects. 


What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?


It's an easy to have my students answer critical thinking questions. Through this, I can see where my students are at with comprehension. Also, I can see what they understand and what they don't understand.

  • Hard for students to find the initial question I ask

How will I use this tool in my classroom to present information?

When my students and I are in the computer lab together, I can have my students go online and answer my question. They can also see what everyone else put.

My students can be able to see the questions and really think about the answer for themselves. They don't need to worry about what others think of them because they can put a nickname. Students can feel free to express themselves.

The Basics of Art

Google Docs

What is Google Docs?


It is just like Microsoft Word but it's linked to google drive. This allows you to share the document with others and they are able to edit the document if you give them access. 

What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?


Google Docs is great for group presentations. We can share the documents together and all be able to access it and edit it. This will allow us to save time on meeting up to prepare the lessons we give. 

What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?


I can make documents easy to access. Some people don't have Microsoft Word download on their computers. This would make it hard for students to access my work. Since I will be using Google Docs, anyone with internet can access my documents I make.

How will I use this tool in my classroom to present information?

Google Docs can be used as homework for the students. I can either print out the documents I make or make them accessible online for the students to use. I could teach anything with Google Docs.

My students can have access to the documents I make on my blog. This will help students be able to practice material and see all my post online.

What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?


I can use this tool by asking questions to other students about their opinions or ideas about different topics or lessons. 


What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?


This tool will help me have my students use critical thinking skills. Along with that, I can help them understand what an opinion is or an idea. On AnswerGarden, there will be plenty of different answers and students need to understand that it's okay to think differently than others.

How will I use this tool in my classroom to present information?

I did AnswerGarden on mental health and what makes people stresses. When students look at each others answers, they will find out that people are different. We all have different things that stress us out.

This tool can help them use critical thinking skills. I can also post all the answers on my blog so the students can look at all the answers and really think deeper about the questions I ask.

What Are The Different Seasons?

What is MindMapping?

Remember making web maps for your outlines when you would be brain storming for papers or group projects? Well this is the same thing. It's a giant mind where you can link comments, videos, web links and pictures to each other. 


What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?


This is a great way to make presentations and link a whole bunch of materials together to help it be organized. This will help me prepare lessons in a different and cool way. 


What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?


This tool allows students to be able to explore and find new information themselves. They are able to develop critical thinking skills and find new ways to learn for themselves. Mindmapping allows students to learn in multiple ways through videos, text, games and pictures.

How will I use this tool in my classroom to present information?

Mindmapping can be an easy way to teach a lesson that might have lots of material. I can be easy to organize it in sections. I can present it in the classroom or have it for homework.

I can have mindmap posted on our classroom blog. This will make it possible for students to review the material we covered in class. I have also create homework assignments that involves looking at the mindmap I have created.

Let's Learn About The Water Cycle!

EDpuzzle
What is EDpuzzle?

It's a network that allows you to select YouTube videos and add either audio or assessment questions that will pop up. Along with that, you can add comments to the video. 


What does this tool means for me as a student in the Education Program?


I can use EDpuzzle as a tool to assess my classmates if they understand the lessons I give in class. This will help me get feedback if I am teaching the concepts clear enough for students to understand. 


What will I do with this tool as a future teacher?


This tool can help me use repetition with my students. I can teach a lesson in class and then have them use my EDpuzzle video for homework to review. After they submit the video, I can get feedback on what concepts students didn't understand. This will help me improve my teaching and help my students understand all that they need to know. 


PROS of

  • Once you finish the video and publish it because once you publish it, you aren't able to edit it

I can watch the videos I create in the classroom or as homework. This is help with repetition for the students to learn. These questions also allow high thinking. This will help my students to think more about what they learn.

They can use this tool as a review. I can have my video posted on my blogs to help them refresh their minds on what I have taught them.
